If you’ve come around to our classes before, you know that Lighten Up Meditaton uses music during our meditations — but not any old music. We actually spend a lot of time selecting this music, and we strongly suggest that you stick with the music that we recommend.
The main reason for this is that when you meditate, you’re opening yourself up in a very intimate way, and the music you use can have a major effect on you. The meditation technique we use is very powerful, and it’s very direct. To be safe, you’d want to use music that was vetted for this purpose.
All music has a vibration, and your consciousness is merging with that vibration when you listen to the music. This is true whenever you listen to ANY music, but the way you open up during meditation is different. The music can have an actual impact on how you ARE. It can really affect you from a deep level.
This can be a positive, too, obviously — the music that we provide during our classes is high vibe and happy. It will actually facilitate your progress on the path, particularly in the early stages where you’re just establishing your practice. That’s why we take such care in selecting the music for our students.
Meditation is a non-trivial exercise. You may want to be a little conservative with how you approach it — in other words, you may want to follow the directions. You’re dealing with your consciousness here, right? Not something you’d want to mess around with! 🙂
